Keep track free from obstruction and excessive dirt or water.

Hangers

All hangers are fitted with sealed lubricated ball-bearings or plain bearings, which require zero greasing.

If doors ‘settle’ and door clearance is reduced, causing friction, raise the door by the hanger adjustment nuts.

General

Inspect all fixing bolts for tightness every six months, including those securing brackets. Tighten if necessary.

Guides

Guide roller and guide channel must be kept clear and free of obstructions.

Product Maintenance Guides

Track

It is recommended that the running surface within the aluminium track is kept free of debris, dirt and obstruction. No grease is required to aid the rolling of the hanger wheels.

Where fitted to the outside of the building, it is recommended that a protective canopy be fitted (not by PCH). Inspect all fixing bolts for tightness every six months. Tighten if necessary.

Glass clamp profiles

Glass Clamp Profiles – Any keyless locking mechanisms should be checked for excessive wear and regreased if necessary (accessed by removing the black plastic end cap), and at least every six months.

Glass Clamp Profiles – Key locking mechanisms should be oiled with WD40, or equivalent, every six months or as necessary.

Hangers

Flexirol hangers are fitted with sealed lubricated ball bearings, requiring no greasing.

If doors settle and the door clearance is reduced causing contact and friction with the floor then the door will need to be raised using the hanger height adjustment bolt. Ensure that the lock nut is correctly tightened after the necessary adjustments have been made. Guides

If a guide channel is fitted, the guide roller and channel must be kept clear of debris and free from obstruction.

General

Inspect all fixing bolts for tightness every six months, including those securing bolts found on glass clamps.

• Where fitted to the outside of the building, it is recommended that a protective canopy is fitted (not by PCH). Lubricate track running surfaces with a suitable, good quality automotive grease every six months. Increase lubrication frequency in exposed locations or where doors are constantly being operated. In very dusty locations greasing is not recommended, and if possible nylon wheeled hangers should be fitted, which eliminates the need for track greasing.

• Inspect all fixing bolts for tightness every six months, including those securing brackets. Tighten if necessary.
• Lubricate all moving parts and check for wear. If excessively worn, the part should be replaced.

• Keep rails free from obstruction and excessive dirt or water.
• Where fitted to wet locations (e.g. docks), provide drainage for the channel in which the rail is set.
• In corrosive locations (e.g. seafronts), the exposed part of the ungalvanised hot or cold rolled steel rails may be coated with rust inhibitor and painted periodically. We do not recommend this to be done to the rail running tread, which like railway track is best protected by frequently operating the doors and possibly by lubricating occasionally.

• Guide roller spindles must be oiled and greased every six months.

Rollers

• Bottom rollers fitted with grease nipples must be lubricated with a suitable, good quality automotive grease every six months, or more frequently in hot exposed locations, or where doors are constantly being operated. Those not fitted with grease nipples either have greased or sealed precision bearings or plain bearings requiring no maintenance. Should rollers be exposed to excessive dirt or corrosive substances they should be protected by a suitable box-cover.
• The chain and gears on geared rollers (Sterling 3600 and 8000) must be lubricated with automotive grease every six months, and chain tension adjusted ensuring that any protective covers or guards are securely refitted on completion.

General

• Inspect all fixing bolts for tightness every six months, including those securing brackets. Tighten if necessary.
• Lubricate all moving parts and check for wear. If excessively worn, the part should be replaced.

• Keep bottom rails or channels clear of obstruction.
• At least once a year inspect running gear and fittings for free operation.
• Inspect all fixings and screws and bolts, including those securing brackets and top guide/track, ensure that all are tight.
• Persistent problems, especially with the hinge fixing screws, are usually an indication that leaf widths or hinge centre distances are incorrect.
